Hallwalls' Education Program is conceived of as an outgrowth of our organization's existing programming. Whenever possible, we invite exhibiting artists and musicians (both past and present) to visit arts students in high schools and secondary schools across the region. Based upon our knowledge of individual teachers or specific courses, we aim to connect classrooms with artists whose work is aligned with their existing curriculum. We welcome visiting student groups to the gallery and are always keen on giving informal talks about our current exhibition and Hallwalls' own history. In addition to our ongoing, open studio visit sign-up, we regularly organize studio visits with MFA graduate students at various colleges and universities including the University at Buffalo, Rochester Institute of Technology and University at Rochester.

The value we see in connecting students with contemporary working artists and their work is that those experiences have the potential to inspire creativity, encourage critical thinking, and add value to a student's engagement with the arts in the future.

Most recently in 2017, Hallwalls began collaborating with the high school studio art classes at Buffalo City Honors, inviting two individual artists to both present their work and help students fabricate large-scale projects inspired by that artist's use of materials and the particular contemporary issues they address. Students have been working on inflatable sculptures based on the work of Rochester artist, Benjamin Entner.
