SYNOPSIS: Jan Banas (Mateusz Kosciukiewicz), a Pole of a German descent, grows up in Silesia. From his earliest years, soccer is his greatest passion, and his best friend, Ginter (Sebastian Fabijanski), is his greatest competitor. Over time, the friends’ rivalry goes from the backyard to the stadiums of Silesia’s championship soccer clubs. When beautiful Marlena (Karolina Szymczak) enters the lives of the young stars and their rivalry goes beyond sport. True emotions emerge when they court her and quickly discover there are no rules in the game of love. A serious injury brings Ginter’s career to an end and ironically gives Jan a shot at joining the national team with the possibility of playing in both the Olympics and the World Cup. Banas must make a decision that will color the rest of his life.

JAN KIDAWA-BŁOŃSKI

Born in 1953 in Chorzów. Director, screenwriter, and producer. Graduate in Film Directing from the National Film School in Łódź. In 1990s he was the president of the Polish Filmmakers Association and a member of Cinematography Committee. He is a president and co-owner of Gambit Production.
