The Vores' new CD "Common Scar" is a recording made over the past 4 years of largely new material. Kevin Hosey writes in The Hosey Report: "Original members and songwriters Biff Henrich and Gary Nickard has been fleshed out in its resurgence with Cathy Carfagna on keyboard and vocals, Scott Ryan on guitar and Patrick Heyden on drums. While the filling out and shading of the band's angular guitar approach (which still remains) may offend some old fanatics, as a more than 30-year admirer of The Vores, I think it works." The Vores have been playing for years and continue to write and engage. They have recently backed up Craig Smith and Dave Copenhaver in a performance of "The Parasite" at the Burchfield Penny Art Center. Their early recordings were included in the recent exhibition, "Wish You Were Here," at The Albright Knox Art Gallery where they played a set of vintage numbers at the opening reception.
