Ron Ehmke and John Massier invite you to share whatever it is you feel you need to, so long as it's "private writing made public." We don't expect you to "perform" (though if you feel so moved, we wouldn't dream of stopping you). We do expect you to read something writing-based and contribute to reasserting the social network as a public, live, and face to face space. Some Kindsa Love will include both invited participants and open mike participants.
The question of "poetry…" What we DON'T want is participants reading poetry or poetic prose they may have written for the purpose of being read. We would prefer you to excavate the hidden literature of the world and bring to light private writings that were perhaps never intended to be read publicly.
In previous iterations of the event, participants have read personal correspondence, unposted Facebook musings, grade school report cards, etc. We've listed a range of samples below for you to consider.
Letters and their variants will be expected to be no longer than FIVE minutes long.
We want your: love letters • dear john letters • dirty laundry lists • incriminating shopping lists • glowing report cards • scary police reports • heartfelt fan letters (sent or received) • embarrassing job evaluations • intimate FB correspondence • dreamy dream journals • weird diary excerpts • frisky sexual memoirs • freaky xmas letters • crazy manifestos • earnest memos to self
Confirmed to read: Bruce Adams, Allie Brady, Aimee Buyea, Brian Clark, Pat Kewley, Sherri Miller, Esther Neisen
