EXHIBITION OPENING RECEPTION Friday, July 17 - 7 to 10pm
In its 41st year, Hallwalls is pleased to present its 41st annual Members Exhibition, a non-curated, non-juried exhibition open to all current members in good standing. As always, the members’ exhibition provides multiple layers of interest and enjoyment, from its unfettered diversity of media, approach, themes, and concepts; to a density of inclusion that, for many visitors, begs repeated viewings; to opportunities for local collectors and art fans a one-stop shopping moment; to a spontaneous gauge of the present temperature and tone of art in and around Buffalo in mid 2015.
That last point becomes more salient as a reflection of the prodigious artistic activities of the region when we realize that this exhibition only includes those members who chose to participate. There are many more Hallwalls’ members who did not submit a work. And there are many more non-Hallwalls members throughout the WNY who are making art. As thick and boisterous as the show is, as full of work, it still displays perhaps only a slice of a slice of a slice of what actually surrounds us.
This year’s show includes a total of 172 individual works.
