"I would like to take two digital photographs of you, which will be incorporated into an evolving group image, similar to the one pictured above. The two photos are a full-length picture of you standing facing the camera; another of you standing in the same position naked.John Oswald is an internationally famous artist and composer who lives in Toronto Canada. His images of groups of people have been seen in many art galleries and museums in North America.
"These images will be composited to make a single image in which the picture of you with your clothes on is exactly superimposed on the au naturel one, with a degree of transparency so that the shape of your body is potentially visible through your clothes. You will have the opportunity to specify the degree of this transparency you are comfortable with for your own image.
"For your payment I will e-mail you digital copies of the photographs we have taken, which will be an accurate memento of how you look now in your life. They are yours to keep and use as you like; to make prints of; send in e-mails to friends, etc.
"Your image composite will be considered for inclusion into a large, slowly morphing evolving mural of several hundred people, entitled stillnessence. Each person in this image has a varying, ghost-like transparency.
"I will only use your photos in this group image, which will initially be projected on a wall of the gallery at Hallwalls Contemporary Art Center in Buffalo. Your pictures will not be used or seen for any other purpose than for this collage, nor will any one else have access to them. For the photo session I'm asking for 5 minutes of your time. The session will take place in private. The photos will be taken by me. No one else will be allowed on the set, unless you specifically ask to have someone you know to be with you.
"Participants will sign a form that will detail these circumstances/conditions. It would be great to have you as part of this image."
