JAPPIE KING BLACK

Artists Talk by Jappie King Black. Black created drawings and sculpture from grapevines as part of a residency at Buffalo Arts Studio, awarded as part of the 1994 Erie County Artist Residency Exchange. Exhibition curator Sara Kellner will give a brief presentation on the ARE: Western New York, a program initiated by Hallwalls, Pyramid Arts Center (Rochester), and Wayne County Council for the Arts (Lyons). Other winners were Josh Igucci, who won a residency at the Genesee Center for Photography, and David Merkel, who won a residency at Newark DDSO. Followed by an Open Slide Forum, an informal discussion and slide presentation by local artists.
