Eli Langer, a talented and serious young Canadian artist whose drawings were to have appeared in the AMENDMENTS show, decides on advice of counsel to withdraw the work, fearing it might hurt his case now pending in the Canadian courts. His attempt to sue for return of his paintings confiscated from a Toronto gallery — seized on charges of child pornography — is a nationally celebrated test case of Canada's harsh new censorship laws. — E.C.]
