Month long series of screenings and artist presentations on the work of activists, community groups, and others who utilize consumer camcorder technology and deal with issues surrounding legal and commercial use of home video footage. Laura McGough acted as Festival Coordinator, with Programming Assistance and Overall Guidance provided by Chris Hill. Anne Ferguson acted as Special Projects Coordinator, and Leslie Roberts-Wahl was Technical Director.

Laylah Ali
Paintings and Drawings


Laylah Ali's work explores power dynamics and interpersonal conflict through compositions that position culturally, racially and sexually ambiguous figures in precarious, loaded, and unexpectedly humorous situations. Ali uses concise—even minimal—imagery that is specific in rendering and intent. While there are narratives in Ali's work, they are stories whose open spaces often give them the atmosphere of fables.
