Matthew Barney

THE CREMASTER CYCLE

Presented at:
Market Arcade Film and Art Center

THE CREMASTER CYCLE, a five part cinematic epic, sealed Matthew Barney's reputation as one of the brightest art stars of the 1990s. In a unique collaboration between Hallwalls, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, and the Market Arcade Film & Arts Centre, THE CREMASTER CYCLE will be screened in its entirety for one week only in downtown Buffalo. Please join us for a special evening with Walker Arts Center Chief Curator Richard Flood on Thursday, February 19 at 8 p.m. at MAFAC, when he will contextualize Barney's films and the artist himself within the history of cinema and the visual arts. Also, visit the Albright-Knox Art Gallery to view one representative still from each CREMASTER film recently acquired for the Gallery's Permanent Collection.
