Western New York Documentary-Makers Meeting

WNY Doc Consortium presents an informal networking event for WNY Doc Makers on July 27 at 7pm at the new Hallwalls space, 341 Delaware Ave, Buffalo. Open to anyone working in the non-fiction motion picture field. Students are welcome.

Meet your peers. Discuss your work. Find crew. Bring a work-in-progress clip for feedback. Please limit your clip to seven minutes so we have time for everyone. Admission is free.

Laylah Ali
Paintings and Drawings

Laylah Ali's work explores power dynamics and interpersonal conflict through compositions that position culturally, racially and sexually ambiguous figures in precarious, loaded, and unexpectedly humorous situations. Ali uses concise—even minimal—imagery that is specific in rendering and intent. While there are narratives in Ali's work, they are stories whose open spaces often give them the atmosphere of fables.
