Program 1: TRIBUTE TO JOHN COLTRANE.. A Series of Musical Improvisations. Featuring: Jim 'Pappy' Martin (Bass), Dave Schiavone and Carol McLaughlin (sax), Al Tinney (piano), Sabu Adeyola (Bass), John Bacon Jr. (drums). James Patrick (of the Western New York Jazz Society) will screen the film THE COLTRANE LEGACY featuring rare footage of the saxophonist from the Miles Davis Quintet of 1959, as well as his own quintet from 1961-63.

David Schirm
All The Glad Variety


Though distilled into broad symbolic forms or abstract landscapes, David Schirm's work often springs from his own experiences during the Vietnam War and paintings may allude to the scenes of horrific and senseless battles, the strafing of weapons across a landscape, "whose laser-like blazes of fired bullets gave a distinctive hum of un-worldliness to the darkness."
