Just Buffalo Literary Center presents:
Series curated by Joyce Carolyn
Join singer/songwriter, Buffalo music impresario, and Righteous
Babe Records recording artist Michael Meldrum
for an evening of music, poetry, and politics. Meldrum
will be joined by spoken-word artists Tynesha Davis, AKA
"Lovely" and Sam Floyd. The show will be followed by an open mic.
Michael Meldrum has been performing and teaching throughout
the eastern U.S. for more than thirty years. His impact on Ani DiFranco
and other artists has been profound. DiFranco has written:
"In addition to teaching me the joys of singing songs, Michael also provided
a model for me of a self-motivated artist who actually makes their living
in the arts. As an aspiring artist myself, this was an invaluable example
and I garnered a lot of practical experience attending and participating
in his gigs with him." Meldrum was inducted into the Buffalo
Music Hall of Fame in 2006.
Sam Floyd is a contemporary Buffalo poet. First published
in Blinking Eights magazine, he has also published a chapbook of
his poems, entitled The Quiet Space.
