Masani Alexis De Veaux (SUNY Buffalo Women's Studies Professor/Poet/Activist) reads recent work; Judith Jackson (award winning New York dancer/comic/actress) performs "WOMB man WARS" a one women show about Anital Hill, reproductive rights, and other choice subjects.  These two electrifying artists are long-time friends who toured Europe together with a satirical troupe in the 1970's; tonights event marks their first appearence together in many years.

Laylah Ali
Paintings and Drawings


Laylah Ali's work explores power dynamics and interpersonal conflict through compositions that position culturally, racially and sexually ambiguous figures in precarious, loaded, and unexpectedly humorous situations. Ali uses concise—even minimal—imagery that is specific in rendering and intent. While there are narratives in Ali's work, they are stories whose open spaces often give them the atmosphere of fables.
