University of California Press released Mei-Mei Berssenbrugge's I Love Artists: New and Selected Poems in 2006. Berssenbrugge was born in Beijing and grew up in Massachusetts. Her other books of poetry include Empathy (Station Hill), Sphericity (with art by painter Richard Tuttle, who exhibited at Hallwalls in 1976), and Nest (Kelsey Street).

Other collaborations include theater works with Tan Dun and Alvin Lucier and two artist's books Kiki Smith (who exhibited at Hallwalls in 1983): Endocrinology (1997) and Concordance (2006).
