New UB English & creative writing professor (and acclaimed author of the World Fantasy Award-winning novel Who Fears Death)Nnedi Okorafor will introduce a multimedia presentation by visiting Nigerian American animator (and her brother) Emezie Okorafor, who will be coming to Hallwalls to screen some of his animations and discuss storytelling from the fringes and the challenges and rewards of being an independent animator.
Emezie Okorafor is a Nigerian American independent animator and musician who graduated from M.I.T. (in Chemical Engineering), the University of Chicago Law School, and the Illinois Institute of Art before attending the UCLA Animation Workshop. He is the creator of the wildly popular short animated film "Chubby Mermaid" and ongoing Youtube animated series "Porkchop 'n Flatscreen."
