New (mostly) solo contemporary dance works performed to live music in classical, jazz, & blues genres. Intimate seating in two different spaces in The Church puts you up close and personal with dancers and musicians. Visual art installations by Catherine Linder Spencer & David Butler. Amy Taravella is Co-Artistic Director of Buffalo Contemporary Dance, with whom she recently performed at The Church in Dances for Our Mothers.
Choreographer Gerry Trentham's new work Ash, a "duet" for dancer and video, was commissioned by and for Taravella, with video by Toronto filmmaker Michael Stecky and music by composer Kevin McFadden. Taravella will dance Untitled Duet with its choreographer, Matt Williams.
