Central Terminal
Hallwalls' Artists & Models art party has come to signify all that's cutting-edge & dynamic in the Buffalo arts scene and this year's event, Artists & Models: Unhinged is the must-attend event of 2008. After a three-year hiatus, Artists & Models returned in 2007—an event so successful that audiences & artists are still talking about it nearly a year later (check out Think Twice Radio's coverage of A&M '07).
This year, Artists & Models: Unhinged is going to be a veritable feast for the senses with 33 original art installations, live music by Crittenden, DJ Ceiba, London vs. New York, and Eye Candy Burlesque show on the main stage with David Butler as the Master of Ceremonies. The Reactionary Ensemble room (video & live music), and The Fractal Project will have a DJ/VJ room, local and craft beer selections and great wine, locally-based food vendors Sonoma Grille & Ike's BBQ, and much more. It will take place at the historic Central Terminal on Buffalo's east side on Saturday, May 31 from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
In the past 20 incarnations of Hallwalls' Artists & Models Affair, a multitude of Buffalo sites have served as the locus for temporary artistic expressions and controlled insanity: the Broadway Market, abandoned factories, warehouses, auto showrooms, roller rinks, deserted downtown malls and department stores, the Tri-Main Center, and the Buffalo Convention Center. This year's event returns to the Central Terminal, architectural landmark, emblem of Buffalo's glorious past and its phoenix future. Visible from miles away, the Central Terminal will, for one evening, become the hub for Unhinged—a location, a state of being, a condition, an apparition, a temporary psychosis, an inevitability.
Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door.
