This evening will feature presentations from nine Being Absent artists
along with two special presenters, Joan Linder and Ben Van Dyke,
from the faculty of the Visual Studies program at the University at Buffalo.
Pecha Kucha is an international network of local forums for creative
exchange. Each presenter is allowed 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds
each—giving 6 minutes 40 seconds of fame before the next presenter
is up. This keeps presentations concise, the interest level up, and gives
more people the chance to show.
The entire main exhibition at the Artspace Buffalo gallery will be
on view Saturday during regular gallery hours (12 pm to 4 pm). Artspace
will also be open during the special hours of 6 pm to 8 pm before the Saturday
Pecha Kucha event, for those who have not yet had an opportunity
to see all the work in the show.
