Hallwalls presents the sixth (and second to last) part of its seven-part series Amid/In Western New York, regional survey exhibitions curated by John Massier, Kyle Butler, and Rebecca Wing. Amid/In is a research-heavy project centered on the studio visit process, clustered in tight succession, and with artists/works selected in the month leading up to the exhibition's opening. It has no specific theme and is seeking to root out whatever people have going on at this moment. It is a casual survey, intensely-wrought.

The range of work represented in Part Six reflects the wide range of work considered throughout the process—installation works by Caitlin Cass and David Mitchell, paintings by Jay Carrier, drawings by Nicholas Ruth, Joan Linder, and Todd Lesmeister, book sculptures by Scott McCarney, and photographic diptychs by Hallwalls' founder Charles Clough.

From November 2014 through December 2015, 171 studio visits have been accomplished and the work of 44 regional artists exhibited. To date, the following artists have been included in the survey:

Liz Bayan • Adrian Bertolone • Laura Borneman • Marie-Claire Bozant • Emily Churco • Denton Crawford • Benjamin Entner • Dorothy Fitzgerald • Flatsitter • Martin Freeman • Pam Glick • Bobby Griffiths • Kate Gaudy • Mickey Harmon • Adele Henderson • Billy Huggins • George Hughes • Richard Huntington • Kyla Kegler • Pat Kewley • Kevin Kline • Bethany Krull • Mark Lavatelli • Evelyne Leblanc-Roberge • Liz Lessner • Ian McCrohan • Brian Milbrand • Benjamin Minter • Julian Montague • Tommy Nguyen • Eileen Pleasure • J Tim Raymond • David Schirm • Jason Seeley • Peter Sowiski • Peter Stephens • Rodney Taylor • Marissa Tirone • Marc Tomko • Allen Topolski • Jeff Vincent • virocode • Alfonso Volo • Kurt Von Voetsch • Necole Zayatz
